Alice of Human Sacrifice
Prologue
It is a law among all creatures, whether they know it or not, that dreams must follow certain regulations. All dreams in the dreamworld must be dreamed by someone and all must have something-or someone-who inhabits the dream regularly. And while it is not a rule, all dreams do fade away at some point or another, vanishing from the dream world.
However, there was one dream that was quite odd. It neither obeyed nor disobeyed the laws of dreams. Now, this dream was a small one, virtually nonexistent in the dream world. Nobody remembered who had dreamed this small dream, but it was known that the dream had been in the dream world for quite some time, longer than most actually. People might enter this particular dream now and than, but in the end, they'd always leave and completely forget about the dream. Now, the little dream-as we shall now refer it as-was growing quite lonely from all the neglect. How do I keep people within me? It wondered to itself. Surely enough, an answer came.
The little dream decided to keep everyone that stepped into it and capture them within its boundaries forever. These people that became part of the dream for a time would be part of the dream for the rest of their lives. They'd never go back to the real world, never waking up. Forever they would stay in the pretty little world that the dream created especially for them.
Our little dream thought that this idea was perfect. There would never be that aching sense of loneliness again. Never again would this little dream feel the pain and the hunger to have someone or something to become its company. It would be forever in the wake of friends...Or so the little dream thought. What this little dream did not know was that something, yes something, was about to go very wrong in the world that it so painfully created. And that the people that it lulled so carefully and precisely into the dream were not the kind of people that it would want...and so it begins...A spade, a diamond, a club and two hearts...trapped in Wonderland forever...
